Here at Dandara Living, we are proud to continue our support for the annual 5K challenge held at Hazlehead Park, which has been given a Wild West theme for this year. So dust off your cowboy hats and checked shirts to raise money for the Friends of Hazlehead, a charity dedicated to improving the Park for the local community.
The race takes place on Saturday 9th September, so you’ve got plenty of time to get training (read our blog post about local running spots)! Alongside the 5K run for adults, there’ll be children’s races (1K, 2K and 600m fun run) and an events village with catering and entertainment for all the family.
The run is the perfect opportunity to get active and take in the beautiful surroundings of Hazlehead Park, less than 4.5 miles from Forbes Place.
Don’t think twice – it’s all for charity!
Money raised in previous years has contributed to the creation of memory paths, regenerating the Queen Mother Rose Garden, the restoration of the fountain and towards the upgrading of Pet’s Corner, which is now home to Vader the giant python.
In addition, the funding has helped towards community events such as the annual Winter Wonderland in Hazlehead Park. The charity is also planning to re-sculpt the formal gardens and pathways and plans are in place for a new ‘trim-trail’ to be introduced later this year.
